Food Critics we are!!

When I met Hubster in Dallas 10 years ago one of the first restaurants he ever took me too was Fogo de Chao in Addison.

Visits there created memories of some of the best meals I'd ever had. The service was always impeccable, the food amazing and the ambiance just right... If it was good enough for the Dallas Cowboy footballers it was good enough for me!

They had the most amazing salad bar I'd ever seen, and gorgeous Brazilian gauchos delivering the meat to your table :-)
Most impressive salad bar I've ever seen!!

Wind on 10 years and I read there is a Fogo de Chao opening in Orlando.

Excited doesn't even describe how I felt !!! Never a vegetarian will I be, I love that grilled meat!!!

We'd had a miserable day in the rain storm Saturday and so I suggested to cheer ourselves up that we go into Orlando to the recently opened Fogo de Chao.

Anne, never shy about coming forward, decided this was a 'bally' good idea and insisted on paying... very nice of her too considering this was going to be a $200+ meal for 3 us (eek!)

Let me explain how the concept works....(or let their website explain as I'm a lazy B**** and copying it is a lot quicker!!)

Step 1: Sit down, relax, and enjoy a drink while we explain the Fogo® dining experience.
There's me studying how many types of meat I can get!

Step 2: Visit our gourmet salad and sides bar. Enjoy over 30 items including fresh cut vegetables, imported cheeses, cured meats and Brazilian side dishes.

It's not a fan Anne.. you grab your meat with the tongs!

Step 3: Turn your card green side up, signaling that you are ready for our gaucho chefs to begin tableside service.

Step 4: Choose from the 15 cuts of delectable fire roasted meats that are brought to your table, sliced, and served by our gaucho chefs.

Step 5: When you are satisfied, flip the disc to the red side until you are ready for more offerings.

Step 6: If you wish, end the meal with one of our delicious desserts.

So of course, because Anne is Anne she decided to combine 2,3 &4 and have her salad bar & meat all at once..leaving no room on her plate!!

By the way that's Sangria she is drinking, not sick in the wine!
not much room left on that plate Anne!
The salad bar, although not as large or copious as I remembered in Dallas was delicious and you have to be careful not to be too much of a piggy when faced with an amazing array of goodies!

SAVE ROOM FOR THE MEAT

Here it comes..
Some not so good looking gauchos bring the meat!

The meat was delicious... but overall was it worth $42.90 / head set price for salad & dinner (no wine included in that price!!!) It gets very expensive very fast if you like a drink or dessert with dinner!
Don't let Hubster take the pics... this is the best one of Anne & I!!

Hubster said he'd drive, so Anne & I decided to have a liqueur coffee to end the meal.... well I had a liqueur coffee, she had a liqueur coffee without the coffee!!!!!

Yes Anne actually asked a waiter for a liqueur coffee WITHOUT THE COFFEE!!!

Heathen

We did enjoy it though... it just wasn't as good as we remembered!

I'll leave you with this fab picture Anne took of me and Hubster... we normally look horrible in pics.. but this one isn't half bad.. thanks for taking us out Anne!!!
